Travel to and from school

The pedestrian crossing in the High Street is supervised by the School Crossing Patrol Officer at peak school times at the beginning and end of the school day. The Parish Council and the school cover the financial costs of this.

We encourage children to lead an active and healthy lifestyle; this includes walking to and from school where possible. School Lane and School Road are always very busy at peak times and parents that need to deliver or collect children by car are asked not to drive into, or park in School Lane. This avoids congestion and helps with safety. Parking is available at the Village Hall but care is needed anywhere in the area.

Please inform staff of any changes to the routine of collecting your child.

We operate a walking bus which takes place on a Wednesday each week from Irchester Bowls Club. Drop off time is between 8:25am – 8:35am and then the children are escorted to school with our group of volunteers. The newly established ‘Eco Team’ thought this would be a lovely idea to help to ease congestion in the village and reduce pollution.
