Year 4 and 5 trip to Irchester Country Park

Year 4 and 5 pupils spent a day at Irchester Country Park learning lots of new Geography fieldwork skills. They learnt how to orient a map and use geographical features to ensure maps were the right way round; identified map symbols; guided blindfolded partners around an obstacle course; hid objects for others to find using grid references; used orienteering skills to solve a puzzle using morse code; and put all of these skills to the test by orienteering around the country park to find check point markers.
